Eligibility Criteria

  • Nominee must be a resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Nominee has demonstrated exemplary leadership or service
  • Nominee has strengthened ties across and between Indian communities and the Commonwealth
  • Nominee’s efforts has had a significant local or statewide impact on behalf of the Indian community

2018 Indian Community Leader of the Year Award

The Indian Association of Virginia is calling for nominations for the 2018 Indian Community Leader of the Year Award. This award honors and celebrates an individual within the Commonwealth who has exhibited exemplary service or leadership and has had an exceptional impact on the Indian community in Virginia. The winner will be recognized at Independence Day Event organized by IAVA on the evening of August 18, 2018 at the Deep Run High School Glen Allen, VA.

  • You may self-nominate or nominate another individual
  • Click here to download the Nomination Form. Complete the application and submit the required documentation via email to president@iava.us
  • Selection Committee will notify the winner by August 14, 2018
  • If selected, winner agrees to be present at the Independence day program on August 18, 2018 to receive the award in person
